Barred Rock Chicks...Which ones have big head spots? (Pics)

I had a chicken go broody in my neigbors barn with about 6 eggs. I went over to check on her today, and she had a chick. Sadly, there's only the one chick. His daddy is a barred rock, and she is an EE. Just from looking at him, I think he's a roo.

Which gender has the bigger head spot? I know its not that accurate all the time, but I'd like to know.

Sorry they aren't very good. That momma is evil! If I even come in the direction of her chick, she flogs!
 
well, if he were pure barred rock, he'd probably be a roo, but since he is half and half, I don't know. wait a few weeks
 
Well, crossing breeds will make it a bit less accurate to sex, but I have found that my Barred EEs (BR over BBS Ameraucanas) still have the correct corresponding headspots for the sexes, even being crossed. At least most of the time, they do.
