These two BR chicks are both about 3 weeks old. The one on the left is a little bigger and has a bit more barring. Do I have a pullet and a roo? I really hope there both girls. At what age will a Roos come start turning pinkish?

Cockerel have double barring genes. This makes them look brighter and the barring whiter. The pullet has a darker look and the barring is less bright. On hatchery grade birds, the pullets barring is virtually spotty or cuckoo.

At 6-7 weeks, the cockerels show bright red combs and wattles, while the pullets look remain yellowish. Easy to distinguish at that age. Here's a couple of photos of 5 week hatchery chicks and 7 week old true, bred to standard birds. Can you see who is who?

Yeah you can definitely tell the difference. Well thanks for the help. Ill give them a few more weeks and the answer should be pretty obvious. Thanks again

Looks like you have two girls. Keep an eye out though
