My question is what or how different will the barred rock cross chicks look from the pure bred barred rock chicks?

This is the cross: Barred Rock roosters x
white leghorn hens
black star hens
cinnamon queen hens
black australorp hens
game hens
I know all the chicks will be barred from the barred rooster mating.
And I will have pure barred rock chicks also, as I have barred rock hens.
What will be some of the ways to tell the cross chicks from the pures.
Will leg color be one and if so what will the color be?
Also will the barreding be off on the cross chicks?
Will there be any other color in the cross chicks, if so what colors?
Thanks for your help, in 22 days I'll have some chicks to see if your right.

I am not real sure but might I be able to talk you out of a game and leghorn pullet? I should have some game type crosses to swap if ya like!

Are you asking about the chicks? If so I'll be selling all the cross chicks from this hatch. I'm gathering the eggs today and will be setting them tonight or in the morning.

We can do that, I might be interested in some of your quail.
I'll let you know what I end up with when they hatch.

Um... there will be no pure barred rocks unless you have pure barred rocks for the cocks to cover.

As far as coloring on the offspring, it depends on what types of dominate coloring exists in the females. You will have color bleeding through whatever patterns occur. The patterns could be lacing or barring. Some barring will be stronger on some than the others. I know with a barred rock covering a buff orpington, I got some nice barred roosters with silver and gold leaking into the hackles and saddle feathers, making them look almost crele. The hens of that combination were brownish/grey with what looked more like lacing than barring with gold or silver showing in the hackles.

quail I can do!! Just tell me the colors and we will swap at the swap or sooner...cuz sometimes I have a little impatience problem...like real bad...

and yeah Cuban I thought that was the history or breeding behind the crele myself...kinda wondering if that would show through on a red pyle
