I was sold 6 chicks from fleet farm as barred rocks. They are 16 weeks old now and only one actually looks like a tree Plymouth barred rock. The other 4, as one died right after we got home with them, have very little barring on their bodies and their heads have a weird pattern to them. The only other chick breeds they had there were sapphire gems and ameraucana, which I got 2 of each of those so I know these are not either of those breeds. First picture is one that im thinking is a cross, second is the the one that i know is a barred rock as she has the even barring on her whole body, and the thrid picture is another one that i think is a cross, but with more of the body in the picture.

Hoovers barred rocks genetics are kinda funky, they also have a mix that's barred rock based. these started showing up about 5 years ago, they're getting pretty common.
