Barred Rock? Roo or pullet?

Hi

This Bantam joined our family and we were told it was a Barred Rock Pullet. Not been keeping chickens all that long but to me it looks like there are saddle feathers and the tail feathers seem to be taking on a decidedly Roo appearance. Does Abbie become an Albert? If 'she' is a pullet at what age should she start laying?

That is definitely not a Barred Rock, I'm not sure what breed it is but I would say it is a cockerel and not a pullet.

A friend at the weekend suggested it might be a Cuckoo Maran and looking at your picture of the Barred Rock I can see that mine has white legs rather than the yellow. I suppose my main concern is the sex as we already have a cockerel and we don't want two. Confirmation of Abbie or Albert would be appreciated.

The tail feathers look like a cockerels.

It's a mixed breed cockerel. Looks like he might have some Easter Egger in him with that pea comb and fluffy face.
