Barred Rock roos?

Do Barred Rock roos taste good, are they tender at fifteen weeks?

Just wondering since I'm butchering a whole bunch of em' this month.

They'll taste like chicken. 15 weeks? They'll be tender if you don't stress them during the kill and rest the meat for a few days. However, you may be disappointed in the carcass as it won't look much like the birds wrapped in saran wrap at the grocery store.

[what did I do]

We ended up skinning our barred rock roosters. The feathers left black on the skin that was hard to get off. I canned most of my BR roosters - they taste like chicken - that sounds so funny. They looked so skinny but there is some meat on them.
