I've got two Barred Rock Roosters that were hatched March 17th, which makes them just under four months old. at what point should they be crowing?

My 12 week old Polish "free exotic" rooster, Puff, just started crowing this week. It's very cute. I thought one of my pullets was strangling or something, and then noticed Puff has assumed the rooster crowing position... it was him, early attempts. I don't know that he'll ever be very imposing, but this was pretty endearing - I think I might keep him after all.

I have 7 Barred Rock roosters that hatched on March 19th. One of them was trying to crow at 3 weeks old. The other 6 started trying this past week.

I think its like every thing else. It depends on the particular roo. Mine is about 19 weeks and has just learned to crow. There was no other roos in hearing distance. I finally started crowing at him. LOL, funny sound for sure but it worked. Gloria Jean

I have a barred rock roo that was hatched on 3/15 and he will crow here and there. He has his little practice sessions where he will crow like 6 or 7 times in a row and then we dont hear anything from him for a while. I think its so adorable, its all raspy and off tune.

I heard my first strange noise at about 4 weeks. They are now 9 weeks old and TOTALLY cock-a-doodle-dooing ALL the time.
