Barred Rock roughly 5-6 months old(ish?)

Age is truly unknown, since it appeared in my yard during the summer as a chick. Should soon either crow (hasnt yet) or lay an egg (hasnt yet, that im aware of). Which do you think?

Definitely a male. I see pointy hackle (neck) feathers. Also the light coloring is typical of Barred Rock males.

Dont be sorry! I was hoping it was a cockerel, otherwise i was "stuck" with a cubalaya/leghorn mix for the flock leader
