what color will you get from crossing a barred rock and a rir

If your rooster is the Barred Rock all chicks will be barred.
If the rooster is the RIR you will get black pullets with redish neck feathers. And you roos will be barred.

from what i was told the barred rock was the roo i did not see them i just got the eggs, big big eggs

Yes, all your chicks will have barring to some degree if the rooster was the BR. I have one cross with one of my Blue Ameraucana hens. She looks like a Cuckoo Marans with a modified pea comb and white legs. Others have hatched my chicks with my BR rooster and my Buff Brahma and Buff Orpingtons. All have barring.
