Barred rocks...who stripes first

Do male Barred rocks get stripes faster than females? My two that are about 3 weeks old look totally different. One has a ton of bars and one barely has any...Just wondering. I assume the stripier one is a roo...

I think the wider white bars is usually male, but no gaurentees on it as there are bird to bird differences.
