Barred rocks?

hi there...

These are three day old chicks, purchased from Weld Hatchery (by a farmer) as barred rocks. I've also looked for pix of barred rock chicks and see that they, in the pix, do seem to have the dark legs and beak.

BUT...my question is...barred rocks are supposed to have YELLOW legs and beaks? do legs/beaks change color as the chick ages?

Uhhh...I have barred rock babies, and although these look similar, the feet don't look right. Could they be chicks that are mixed with barred rock perhaps? Or, maybe someone else more knowledgeable of chick breeds knows of this type of chick? I am not an expert, but based on my chicks, and BR chick pics I've seen, these do not look the same.

Looks like you have chicks that have one BR parent and one parent something else. I'd imagine a roo jumped a fence at some point.

The legs and comb are getting darker...these were from Welp Hatchery.

Any thoughts on the other parent?
