Just wondering...I have 7 three week old chicks and I'm noticing that some of them are getting their feathers quicker and I have one that is the same breed, but growing like a monster.

When you have the same breed and the same age, have you noticed that one gender tends to develop faster than the other?

Thanks for any experiences.

I have found that my pullets start off faster (grow faster, feather sooner), but then the roosters overtake them and grow, grow, grow...

In our first batch, we have nineteen girls and one boy. I don't quite remember who was bigger at first, but now, at eleven weeks, our BO cockerel is considerably bigger than the rest of the BO's. His head, too, feathered quicker than the pullets'.
