Bathing a sticky chicken

hey folks! what about a sticky chicken? Lol! I have this one particularly inquisitive hen and somehow she got hold of a fly paper. She is a dirty mess! the dirt is stuck to the sticky stuff so when i washed with dawn that didn't help. What can I safely use?

Cooking oil cuts most sticky residues. Try rubbing that by hand over the sticky parts, then wash that off with Dawn. I use it for tree sap and such all the time. Disclaimer: I do not yet own chickens but I can't see any harm in trying this.
