That second link says that they use whitening shampoo for dogs to get them white. I think they carry it at Wal-Mart, but if you can't find it, you should be able to get it at Petsmart.

That was a great link, Kendra. I have to go to town on Tuesday I'll see if I can get it then. I am selling some of the cochins this week at an auction so I want them to look their best! I have 9 hens and only one roo who doesn't seem particuarly "active" if you know what I mean, so I think I will thin the girls out (they are so neat, though!) Healthy, friendly, just dirty looking, lollol

I bought the Hartz dog whitening shampoo at Walmart! What a difference. HOLY COW! They are really white and even the mottled ones have white whites now too! WOOT!

I wouldn't use Dawn unless they have really thick oily stuff on them. Use something gentle like dog shampoo or baby shampoo. Be sure to rinse them very very well so they don't get a reaction to it.

Well, there goes my next project......a chicken washer. I've got the plumbing experience to rig it up. A few shower heads and a way to hold feet neck and wings sounds like a good start.
