Bator is full!

I've got 15 buff orp eggs, 13 silkie eggs, and 11 blue orp eggs in the bator!

The last batch I had the eggs laying loose and rolled the completely over by hand every time. This time I have them in egg cartons with one side on a styrofoam block and just move the cartons from side to side each time. Hope it works

It is much quicker to turn them this way and much gentler on the eggs.

I've got more blue orps and some frizzle polish coming next week so I guess they will have to go into the old Sears & Roebuck round galvanized bator

There is a little auracana cross chick from the first batch that is so friendly! When we reach into the brooder it will come over and jump into your hand to be picked up.

Last night it laid in my hand and vibrated almost like a kitten purring? I sure hope it's a hen!
