Battered Peahen

One of my peahens in with my 2 year old peacock and another peahen is getting beat up, bad. I am not sure it the peacock when he is breeding her as I haven't seen them breed. The back of her head is bald and bloody, which makes me think it is from breeding but the other peahen is fine.
Should I seperate her and let her recover? Should I just put her back in every 3 weeks for a little while to keep the eggs fertile?
