hey ducky pros!

Curious if I could be giving my 3 week old mallard ducklings batwing?
They just started showing little feathers.

I read about it somewhere over the internet the last few weeks that too much protein could give them bat wing.

They just love worms so much. But I’m assuming it’s all protein .

They have access to all other food all the time (chicken starter, greens, and whatever insects or other yard things to eat all day) but I just want to make double sure I’m not hurting them rather than helping.

I gave them a lot in the beginning. But now they split maybe 40 angle worms (or smaller) in morning and in night.

I also give them dried mealworms (a handful a few times a day cuz they love it so much)

I will continue to research throughout the forums too. Thank you!

Welcome to BYC! A pic would be helpful young ducks when their primary feathers first come in they can look like they have angelwing until their muscles developer to carry the extra weight of the primary feathers

Welcome to BYC! It may be hard, but you will want to cut back on the mealworms.
They are supposed to be a treat, like ice cream or candy. Most of us don't eat candy every day. :D
Pics would be helpful to others, though I don't have ducks so I'm not an expert.
