BCM chicks growing slower then other breeds?!

Aloha,
I’ve notice my BCM chicks (I believe two pullets and 1 cockerel) are growing slower the my other breeds. Both in size and feathering they seem slower. Is this normal? As this is the first time I’ve had them.

I'm not familiar with BCMs, but some breeds do develop faster and others develop slower.

I raised some Brahmas who were 2 weeks older than my other chicks and by the time the younger chicks were 6 weeks old you'd have thought they were the older ones.

I'm thinking along same line as 3KBs, that I'm not really sure don't know what other breeds you have so I'm wondering if the others are fast to mature as opposed to BCM's being slow to mature?? My BCM have actually been faster to mature in terms of first to have red combs/wattles. But also you can get runts. I think the only thing you can rule out is that maturing slowly is a breed characteristic for Maran's, it's not.

Where did you get them? I got mine from Meyers. Mine was small and I thought I might have to wait for her eggs, but she laid second in her group of different kinds of birds. #1 was a brown leghorn.

I had actually ordered from Meyers but they refunded and canceled my order the week before hatching cause hawaii isn’t allowing anything in from Ohio. So I got them from a smaller breeder
