BCM chicks hacthing with red/brown on face..

I added some new stock to my Black coppers last year and it appears it may have been a mistake..First hatch of those out this year and about half have reddish/brown tint around the face and eyes..Anyone seen this before?

I think you already realize that you made a mistake by adding the new BC Marans stock to what you already have. Any time we bring in new untested blood this is subject to happen. The closer you can bred a line of poultry without inbreeding the better off you will be. You can never know what was bred into them before you acquired them.

You will mostly have a bunch of overcolored fowl once they feather out. Good luck with them.
