The Brown County Pigeon & Poultry Association is hosting a poultry swap and flea market Sunday June 14th. Gates open at 7am with a $3 admission fee for anyone over 16 years old. Located at the Brown County fairgrounds in New Ulm, MN. Just a block off highway 14 by Runnings Fleet & Farm. Huge coliseum with bathrooms and lunchstand available. You are also welcome to sell outside too. Everything usually wraps up by noon, so plan on a early day. Rain or shine. Hope to see everyone there! This is the last one hosted by this club til the shows this fall.

Wish i could go but all these swaps are way too far away from me.
I really wish they would have more out this way, so unfair

Sorry! The swaps are hosted by clubs willing to spend the time and effort to do it. Gotta find a public place with enough room, get it ready before hand, clean up afterwards, have people to run the gate, people willing to put on the lunchstand, etc. If you can find a bunch of people in your area willing to to do that and find a place that can possibly park up to 500 vehicles (and trailers possibly)..... Can you find somewhere that will allow that many animals and their feces into a building with low rental rates? Will you pay to have someone there to do pullorum testing or a vet to be there like some counties require? This is why we don't have swaps all over MN. Our volunteers are already at the fairgrounds before 6 am to help. You don't get the fun of spending all day buying and selling stuff and then just going home. Its alot of work!

Btw... East Bethel is only about 2-2.5 hours from New Ulm.

I'm thinking about coming to the June 13 one this weekend> Do you need any help setting up?

This post was from 2009. The swap this weekend is June 13th 2010...same place and time. Might want to stop and ask Trevor at the gate if they need any volunteers. Some of the old guys always appreciate help carrying in crates of birds.
