I have to laugh at myself.I have wondered why people couldn't tell the difference between a pullet and a cockerel.Well I'm stumped.I got 4 Buff Orpingtons in April.as they grew 1 of them seemed to be growing faster and had more Buff in it's build. It's wattles and combs have greatly grown. The pullets that I received with at the same time have very little wattles and combs and have a much smaller build. The hackle feathers look as a roosters would.I have a Blue wynadote rooster that is crowing and I got them at the same time. The Buff isn't crowing. At this time I can't take pictures, but I'm hoping someone may have an idea on what it may be or what to look for..

It's hard to say on the saddle. It seems that they have a different appearance at times. The tail feathers are growing longer than the the others. The others don't have long tail feathers.Just this one. Thanks

I have 2 polish that were supost to be pullets but one was showing he was a he fast. He was less then 2 months old when he started crowing. The other one was about 1.5 months later then he turned out to be a he and started crowing. He did not show any fethers or anything just started crowing. Now he is starting to look like a rooster.

This one isn't crowing yet.He or she is real stocky built has a wattle that has grown like you wouldn't believe. He is a lot bigger than the pullets that I got the same time.

As time tells all I found out that my pullet ain't a pullet. He is crowing and was mounting all hens that he could.I have a Blue Wynadotte Rooster that has put him in his place. The Orpington was a bully to my hens.As time went the Wynadotte started taking action and pulled up on the Orpington. The Wynadotte is gentler but shows he is the head Roo.
