Beak bleed OoO

My chick pipped about 24 hours ago. He LOVES it when I encourage him by saying "Come on little feller,you can do it!" He chirps and pushes with his beak.
But when he pushes you can see blood on the back of the beak! Is this just because his veins are bursting cuz he's hatching? Or is it because there's a sharp lil' piece of shell his beak pushes against? I would really appreciate you guys wisdom...

It may have damaged a small blood vessel as it pipped. I see it pipped quite close to the end of the egg. It may not be able to zip successfully from that position. If it hasn't made any progress by now I would consider helping him a bit. Have a look here for advice and pics:
