I have two pullets and have noticed that they both click with their beaks. It happens when they are really close to me, usually when I am petting, holding them or when they are on top of my shoulders or head. I don't hold them hostage, I let them come and go as they please...but they send morse code or dolphin like sonar clicks to each other. The girls make no effort to move away, flutter or freeze...in fact they gussy up closer to me all the way clicking.

Do those clicking sounds ( I see their beaks clicking, not grinding) mean "Don't touch me!" ? Does anybody elses' chickens click at them?

I think mine make this noise too, I don't think it means anything, they might just have some stuff stuck on their beak.....or i don't know. Maybe someone else will know why they do it
