Ok, this isn't one of my hens, but a fowl nevertheless.

I "inherited" a white Pharoah quail that we have had for over a year.
A pleasant little fellow.
But tonight we noticed that his top beak has broken off a little and is shorter than the bottom one.

We are not sure what he did to cause this, but will he be ok?

Thanks for any help on this "non chicken" matter.

If the beak does in fact grow, which I can not believe that it does not, it should be fine. Be sure the little guy can drink and eat o.k. . I saw a very nice pheasant go through the auction this weekend. The darn thing went for 25 bucks and they bought the hen for 20. I am guessing there is quite a market for these guys.

Thanks for the reassurance. He is still drinking, eating and being fiesty. But will watch him closely.
