One of my chicks has a beak that is not straight. Is there a name for this, and is it a concern? It seems to eat just fine. Is there anything I should do?
It's called cross beak and it is usually the result of incubation issues or poor genetics. Leave it be but never breed it to your hens or raise chicks from its eggs.
Thanks. Do you think it's a cockerel? I also wasn't sure if it is an australorp, it has fluffier cheeks than my other australorp but doesn't have the same look as my Araucanas.
