Hi friends. We have a lovely flock of 7 month olds: 16 pullets and 2 cockerels. Yesterday I noticed discoloration on the barred rocks beaks. Don’t know what’s going on and hoping for some insight. Pics attached. Normal or problem? Thank you for your help!

She just peeled the skin on her beak. It'll grow back.
thank you very much, this has made me feel much better. It got really cold here last week and it snowed 4+ inches. Do you think the cold had anything to do with it? Their coop is a built out stall of a well protected barn, no drafts to speak of but good ventilation. I wonder if the cold did this?

No, I don't think it was the cold. She either rubbed against something rough, or another bird did it out of boredom.
