Beaks up to new feed

I started off my chicks with DuMor starter feed and switched to a local crumble which is a little cheaper but had a lot of dust in it but the chicks loved it. But I switched back to the Dumor 20% chick starter/grower and they won't touch it. It has been 24 hours since I set this feed out for them. The crumbles are a little bigger but not nearly the size of pellets.

Should I be worried? I'm thinking that when they get hungry enough they will eat it but I don't want to risk their health. They are 8 weeks old.

They will end up eating it. An otherwise healthy animal will not starve itself in the presence of food.

I always try to mix the last of an old feed with the first of a new one for the first couple feeders.

Your chickens are not alone. None of mine have ever cared for it either.

Thanks one and all for your feedback. They still haven't eaten much of it at all so I caved and mixed it with water and they are now working on their second big bowl. So maybe it has something to do with the texture or the hardness of the pellet fragments. Or most probably they are terribly spoiled.
