Bear...

I don't (yet) live in bear country, but your plan should include electric fencing, properly set up, and baited first, to keep out bears. Howard E on this site, and Premier1supplies.com, are both good resources for information, and Premier for products.
RIGHT NOW you need to upgrade the garbage dumpster! Electric fencing is legal where you live, a more bear-proof container, and advice from your DNR.
I grew up summering in northern Wisconsin, also with many black bears, and garbage management was very important. We were careful, and never had issues.

Been here 15 yrs. It's only the second time my dumpster has been hit. Hopefully we will be moving in a month or so.

They are around my area but mostly in the state forests. This late winter I found prints in the horse manure pile.

That got me moving getting the electric on the coop. Needed to anyway, it's a predator convention out there some nights lately.

I’d rather have bears then snakes , funny what we get used to. I used to camp with my family dad would leave the steak bones on top of the garbage can for the bears... then he’d get a picture and we’d take a shot of him in his tidy whities!!!

heard bear meat is pretty good, depends what there eating though.

been wanting to hunt one just never have the time to go out and get one lol.
