I bred my bearded white dominant roo silkie with my black bearded bow-tie showgirl hen. The chicks are all splash/painted. Cute either way!

Question:. The chicks do not appear to be bearded? Why is that?

I am not 100% sure but when I had my silkie chicks, none of them looked bearded but one of them turned out to be so maybe you should just wait and see or wait for someone who knows more about them to respond.

The chicks are all paint it sounds like. Splash involves other genetics (BBS).
The bearding gene is considered dominant but I believe it is more complicated than that. I, too, have had beardless chicks hatch from two bearded parents.
Do you have photos of the chicks? In most the beard is evident at hatch, but sometimes can be hard to tell until they get older.😊
