where i live there is a large problem with bears i need a way to go to sleep and not here my dogs barking and keeping the bear at bay if he finds out how smaal my dogs are they will die and my hens and chicks

Maybe you could put up a good strong fence... wood posts in the ground (cemented in) and then put 6 foot tall 2x4 wire stretched onto electric wire insulators which are nailed to your posts. It's a lot of wire doing it that way but they have electric fencers that can electrify miles of wire strands and so if you got one of those, and even though you don't enclose miles of property, it should still be strong enough for the entire fence to carry a current.

That would be my suggestion.

I don't know if there are other bear deterrents out there. You might do a search on bear repellants. See what you come up with.

As for your dogs barking, I don't know what to tell you other than if you have a really good fence to protect your chickens, maybe you could keep the dogs in the house and they would sleep through the night with you.
