Do you have time/materials to build a long narrow lumber frame with a hardware cloth overlay? Dimensions such that you can place it across the entire garage door threshold and lower garage door down on top of it. Like a window screen for your garage entrance, if that makes sense. Might allow for some secure air circulation.
