Beautiful Broody

This is my "speckledhen". She has gone broody.

I guess she knows Spring is coming and wants some babies. I just think she is gorgeous, and grumpy as all get out.

Go ahead, put your hand a little closer. She is a buff orp and is last year's chick.

Yes, because she wouldn't let me get them.

She may look sweet, but let me tell you, she's like a pitbull when you reach for her eggs. She also makes noises like a dinosaur.

It's hard to separate the eggs when the others start laying, it gets too confusing, so I usually don't let them hatch out their eggs. I don't like putting them in the nursery cage, but maybe I will have to.
