He came to me as a 5 week old with two hatch mate hens. He is a Roux dilute colored they are Tuxedos. 8 Rosetta and Rosseta tux babies later I tried putting some new hens, Italians I liked, in with him and he bloodied them up. I split the trio and sold his tuxedo hens. Brought in more hens, (and a few roos by accident), all was fine for 6 days then this morning I see him attacking two of the new hens! He is a JERK. But so pretty. Any advice? I would hate to eat him, I have yet to find another like him around here.

Eat him... Sorry, I dont jnow. But maybe not the best temperament to breed on and if he ruins your hens besides? He did not father any docile sons with his own good look?

Another suggestion is, if you really want to keep him, put him in his own separate pen. Only put females in there to breed, then pull them back out. He may crow like crazy, but it will keep him from hurting your other birds and will allow you to breed him. Then if you happen to hatch a male that looks like him, I would send him to freezer camp asap.

Good luck!

Another male started pecking one overnight. Beat her up pretty bad. I took her out to treat her and he immediately started in on another hen. I am done. All the boys are going in the freezer. I will start over from the beginning with hatching eggs so that I know where/what my birds have been/experiencing. I know that some of these have been passed around alot. Maybe it is just stress of meeting new birds. To much Drama for me.
