Bedding in Brooder

I have been using towels in the bottom of my brooder which is a large Rubbermaid type container. Does anyone use anything else? They are kind of a pain to wash out all of the time.

we use pine shavings, but for chickens we aint done ducks yet

I always use puppy training pads in mine....

I used a "double decker" brooder. All I had to do was hose off the shelf liner a couple of times a day.

We use sand. All the water they kick out sinks into the sand and top layer stays drier.

Pine pellets, seriously. They absorb so much more moisture, and they actually smell better when they get wet, unlike shavings that stink to high heaven when they are wet!

I use chick starter. Use a kitty litter scoop for the little poo piles. The waterer sets on a bowl so it doesn't get the starter wet. Just add more starter as it is needed. This is my first time to try this , so far I am loving it.
