(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes and No. I was raised on a dairy farm and we had chickens for laying and meat. Shut down the Dairy et all when I was 10. So my chicken experience is chores assigned to a child, helping to pluck chickens when we were slaughtering and being chased by several mean chickens who hated children and humans of all types.
My husband also was raised on a dairy and has equal experience to mine.
My Father who lives with us was one of the dairy farm owners.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
7
(3) What breeds do you have?
French cuckoo Maran Pullets
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Google
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
We homeschool, have a screen printing business and run a valley pool league
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
Family of 5 kids ages 14, 13, and 7. Have an attached house to my parents so 7 people really live here. 3 dogs, 2 cats, 1 turtle and a few fish. then we added 7 chickens.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D
Googling info on the chick my daughter got in July lead me here. I have been lurking almost daily since figured it was time to come out of the shadow and introduce myself.

thank you for the warm welcome. Yes having Grandma and Popa right next door is a huge blessing. our youngest doesn't remember ever not having the the ability to go to Grandma's in the winter in your underwear! Just two doors and your in Grandma's Kitchen! Our kiddos are VERY lucky!
Hello and welcome to BYC - great that you have joined us. Having your parents next door is most certainly something to cherish.
