I did a search and didn't find this, so hoping it's not a repeat. The silkie that we have has a cotton ball do. But we got 6 more so she had more of her breed to hang with (we do have more chickens just not silkies), and 3 of them have long do's. At 3 months old, Blue already can't see. Can I use beeswax to hold the do up out of her eyes? Does anyone know how long it will last?

I did search on here and I've tried vet wrap - lasted until she shook her head. Painters tape lasted several hours until her sister took it off. (Violet was very proud of herself for taking that attacker off). Egg white lasts about 24 hours. I'd rather not cut if I don't have too - concerned I can do it safely. Open to other suggestions as well as beeswax.

what do you use to trim them with and how do you hold their heads to keep them still?
