The great news first…. Esme is a Pullet ! DNA confirmed ! The fact that she is still with me is due totally to the time that BYC members put into sharing their opinions and experiences .I wish I could thank them all personally. I was so sure she was a he that I almost didn’t post the picture. I thought people would think I’m pretty ignorant. Looking at that big red comb,wattles, and the daily crowing for Pete’s sake‘s! Anyway, when I read the information provided by members, I canceled my rehoming ad and decided to wait and see as advised. When I read a response informing me of DNA testing, I went for it.I really love this bird, and I am so glad I get to keep her! Thank you again BYC members.

Also, if you want to post more asking for any of your chickens' sex, go for it! Don't worry about people thinking you're ignorant. It is better to ask than to make the mistake of giving away a pullet.
