okay so i dont even have a chicken yet but i really want one looking into seeing if my town allows chickens in my city limits or not but i have an old dog pen i was hoping to bulid up into the chicken coop i need some help to see how to make it a chicken coop! anyone thanks alot!

Welcome to the site and best of luck. As far as asking for help with the dog pen it would be best to post some pictures in the Coop Building forum and hopefully some experienced people there can give you pointers

Welcome to the great chicken community. It sounds like you are planning to get just one chicken. Chickens are social birds and really need a buddy. If you could, please consider getting at least 2. And you'll get double the amount of eggs for the same amount of work....

LOLchick is absolutely right - chickens are flock animals and do not do well solo, unless you plain to keep the one hen as a housepet. Then again some breeds do not like being in the house.
