Behavior changes due to chicks?

I have one 2 year old and fifteen 1 year old Golden Comet hens. We recently bought 10 hen and 5 rooster chicks (now 3 weeks) at 1 day old. We built a separate chick coop for the babes next to the run.
My adult hens have been acting a little different the last two weeks. The all wedge themselves against the door into run which is near door to baby coop. They crowded me in coop like they all are starving. They get oatmeal for a treat and they always have plenty of their food and water. They have become a little louder than usual. A couple hens have also began roosting on the floor of their coop when they all mostly roost on the roost. I am still getting a least 13-15 eggs a day and all seem normal.

Am I looking too much into it? Is it something?

You introduced a whole new set of birds into the flock, so what you are seeing is normal reaction to something new.

Some of the hens sound like they are acting a bit mothery too.

As long as everyone is eating, drinking, pooing and good energy, it sounds like it is just flock change dynamics.
