Hello gritsar Kat,
Liked your rooster reform page. I used the pick-up-and-hold-till-he-stops-squirming method very effectively.
I separated my 13 hens from my 50+ roosters when they were 16 weeks old. We now have two keeper roosters that I want to integrate into the hen flock (now 11 hens).
I tried putting together two hens and the two roosters in a 7X11' indoor pen, but the hens were not cooperative and ended up flying into the walls before I took them out. Blood was spilled, but no one was seriously hurt.
My next idea is to put the 11 hens in an 8X42' outdoor covered pen and then putting in the two roosters. I hope that by the end of the day I can put them in the indoor coop and they can live together happily ever after.
Does this have a chance of working? Any other ideas?
Thanks for your help!
