Ive done a lot of research as i want one.
They have hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia(common in large dogs), cataracts, cancer, heart disease, eye disease, von willbrande disease, and hypothyroidism. Most are very uncommon if ethically bred with health testing

They also need a LOT of grooming!

Indeed. At present I have a Golden and a Sheltie, and my GC has an Aussie. Familiar with hair, and neighbor is head groomer at local PetSmart!

I brush almost daily on our female golden. So i know what grooming they require. I like to keep mine well groomed. My male golden gets brushed once a week he has a field coat
