yesterday my neighbor had a friend over she brought along her alaskan huskey this dog managed to wander onto my 120 acre farm and over my 6 foot fence protecting my 13 pets(chickens) all were slaughtered including my little buddy roody (chinese white tail) poor little guy. I have 2 goats in there as well untouched .I'm sick please tell me where I can attempt to buy more this time of year, sounds stupid but I really loved my birds Thanks

I don't have an answer for you, but wanted to let you know how sorry I am. I lost a roo a little while ago (and sadly I think it was my own dogs, but am not sure) and I cried for days.

Oh, someone might be able to help on this board, but you didnt post where you were.
Here in the midwest, its a bit sparce but some areas have lots of BYC members who are always hatching, or selling.

Thanks for listening as you see I am still up just sick over this I live in upstate ny hopefully some of my menonite neighbors have a few extra chichens to sell will ask tommorow they shouldnt be bothered on sunday

I have seen posts in VT for people offering chickens on craigslist as well as NH. It might be a day trip with the entire drive, but its a nice time of year for it. Go to craigslist for each of those states and just type chickens under the search option. That way you wont have to look around. Good luck and sorry for your loss.

Oh and BTW......There is a swap in sell next sunday in upstate NY. I can find more info on it if you like. You would surely find alot there. I would have to make some calls if you are interested to find out all the info......?

*hugs* I am *so* sorry for your loss..

I hope your neighbor's friend (or your neighbor) are going to be reimbursing you the costs of replacing your birds?

I know for a fact that there are a couple of partridge silky roos just outside Albany who need homes (and at least I can vouch that their brother is a complete love, as I have him

).

Good luck, and I am so sorry again!

irresponsible idiot animal owners!

Sorry for your loss. I'd demand payment for my chickens, as well as the time and expense you've put into raising them. Don't let these people off easy. Let them know there are consequences for their irresponsible behavior.
