Best age to process BBW turkeys

Whats the adverage age to process a BBW turkey i have one that is 4 months olds and weighs 25lbs already.

You process when they get to the size you want.

If you intend to roast whole, be careful that they don't get too big to go into the oven.

Rumor has it that the meat is still tender and juicy up to 1 year of age, but they are so big at 1 year, that everyone butchers before then.

I have two 16week old BBWs and the Tom is getting pretty large. We plan to process them next weekend or the one following so they will be either 17 or 18 weeks old.

I just processed mine and they were at 18 weeks. Next time I will be doing them earlier and will be probably getting girls rather than girls and boys because the boys just got huge quickly. The girls were right around the size I would want them to be at processing but the boys were over 30lbs liveweight and over 25 lbs processed.

I think i wanna do them in november hopefully but i might do it sooner. They probably wont fit in my oven now because my oven is divided into two
