Best Breed Of Broody Hens?

My little phx hen is a broody thing.
I have heard that the games are very good mothers and very protective of thier chicks. They still have the wild instinct to protect their babies and eggs against predators and the babies are born in colors to blend into thier surroundings.
I know the key west chickens which come from game breeds are very prolific and like to go broody. I just got some and one is already laying eggs within a half hour of giving her a coop with a nest. She laid another egg today and is acting like she is going broody already.

The only reason so many people say Silkies and Cochins are so broody is because they're so readily available and common through hatcheries.

American Games and Araucanas are also a very broody breed, and very good moms. My Araucanas for example will do so whenever they can. If there's eggs around, they'll begin as soon as they're old enough to lay eggs, and as soon as they're done, they'll start all over again. Also, both these breeds are far better with self sustaining and/or free ranging flocks.

My vote for Araucana. I got all them other breeds an they dont even come close to them Araucana mommas

my game hen hatched out chicks on her own, when she was wild in the woods about 3 months ago and is broody again, now sitting on 14 -15 eggs. chicks are due january 16-17th.

it is a hen so i will have anther broody!

word of advice if you get a point of lay game hen - lock her in the coop/run for a month! my girl would fly up and roost in the tree anytime i let her out until i finally locked her in for almost a month. they love the trees!! drove me crazy

but she would always be back down in the morning waiting by the door for breakfast!
