My Great Pyr mix has never once bothered or chased my chickens. She eats their poop (not so happy about that :/ ), but doesn't see them as any sort of prey. She gets upset if they're upset about a bird of prey or whatever. She's been out with them alone for hours and not touched them. She's 9 now, and was raised around the chickens. Great Pyrenees can be fantastic livestock guardian dogs, but every dog is an individual.
