Hi guys,

When we bought our quail I headed to eBay and picked up a medium sized drinker for them. I liked the idea of a header tank that can be refilled and a controlled drinker that needed a little less maintenance.

The problem is they keep running into it and causing a spillage which in tourn obliviously makes the bedding wet, and I know quail need dry conditions. I still want the convenience of a large header tank but was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a better drinker to connect it to?

We have 14 birds if that's any help?

Thanks!

Have you considered nipple drinkers? Im sure if you look on the feeding / watering forum you will find lots of ideas. I attach nipple drinkers to suspended plastic buckets and they do work. To prevent wetting bedding i have seen nipple drinkers with a small "saucer" underneath to catch the drops. You could use pvc tubing and connect to a header system. There are useful UTube guides as to how to set up such a system.

Good luck!
