Best egg laying chicks

What would be the best chicken for egg laying....? where in Cape Town could I source them......I would like to have 5..Thanks

Great egg layers include Austra Whites, California Greys, Red Stars, Black Stars (I hear they are hardy and friendly), all the Leghorn colors, Minorcas, Anconas, and Hamburgs. There are a lot of good dual-purpose egg layers out there as well, like Orpingtons, Plymouth Rocks, ect.

You can even choose one of each.

The absolute best chicken for egg laying is also the most common chicken world wide. The White leghorn. Not the biggest and feed to egg ratio EXCELLENT.
