best feeder and waterer?

I'm getting ready to buy my pullets their big feeder and waterer. Any suggestions and tips as to whether metal or plastic is best and what types are best? I do plan to have them hanging, I think... also considering a built in self feeder? Thanks in advance!

I'm pleased with this- Farm Innovators 1.5 gal heated dog bowl for 12 hens.
Has cord protected with wire to prevent pecking/chewing.
Use unplugged in warmer weather.
Should be at level of chickens' backs and on fireproof base.
When changing, pour out into a dump bucket, wipe with a rag and refill with fresh.

I use two kinds of feeders, a 'mailbox' style as shown and when the pullets became hens we added a hopper feeder that we built from white 4" plastic pipe.









I don't think our hopper feeder is safe for chicks, but it is grand for hens.
