Best food to feeds chicks and full grown?

What's the healthiest feed to give your chicks and full grown chickens? I'm very new at this and just want them for the eggs but I also want them to breed little chicks (for more eggs and possibly to eat) thank you!

Till you really understand poultry nutrition, just buy a prepared poultry feed.

Starter for chicks, grower for growing birds and once laying commences. layer feed.
That is the simple thing to do.

If you have a mixed flock, (roosters and growing birds) do not feed layer feed.

Read the label. Your concerns are protein and calcium %.
Chicks to 6 weeks or so can benefit from 18-24% protein. From then on, 18%. No bird that isn't actively laying should be getting more than 2% calcium.
