best heating solutions

We are beginners and have an 8 X 16 barn. Plan to have approx 1/2 for two mini goats and 1/2 for laying chickens. What is the best heating element for our situation. We really just want the chickens for pets and eggs. Possibly raise some babies in the spring of each year.

Where do you live, though? It is quite likely that in a well-built well-managed coop with well-chosen breeds you mightn't even NEED to heat.

we don't heat our coop either, it depends on where you live, we are in central illinois. especially if you have them in the same barn our goats and donkeys and horse seem to stand outside in the coldest weather!
